The Saint Louis community is grieving the loss of Tyson Knapp, a talented young athlete whose life ended far too soon. Tyson, just 19 years old, was a recent graduate of Webster Groves High School, where he shined as both a baseball and basketball player.
On the baseball field, Tyson was known as a skilled right-handed pitcher who wore jersey #7 for Webster Groves High School’s varsity team. He also competed with the Inevitable A’s American 17U and the Gators travel team, where his love for the game and his determination inspired teammates and coaches alike. Standing 5’10” and playing with relentless spirit, Tyson embodied the heart of an athlete—disciplined, driven, and deeply passionate about the sports he loved.
His friends and teammates describe him as not only a fierce competitor but also a loyal friend whose humor and kindness made every practice and game brighter. Off the field, Tyson’s warm personality, strong work ethic, and devotion to those he cared about made him someone others admired and respected.
Tyson’s passing leaves behind a void in the lives of his family, teammates, coaches, and friends. The Webster Groves community, along with the larger Saint Louis sports family, will remember him as a young man full of potential whose legacy will live on in the memories of all who knew him.
He is survived by his family, who are deeply heartbroken but proud of the young man Tyson had become. Plans for a memorial service will be announced in the coming days, as the community gathers to honor his life and support his loved ones.
Tyson’s life, though brief, was filled with passion, friendship, and promise. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
